Due to the restrictions put in place due to COVID-19, the filing deadline for all exemptions has been extended.  Our office will be accepting exemption renewals through the end of the year.  If you have any questions, please contact the office of the Supervisor of Assessments at 815-844-7214.

The 2019 Assessment Change Notices will be mailed and published Wednesday, October 23, 2019.  The filing deadline will be Friday, November 22, 2019.  Since 2019 is a Quadrennial Reassessment Year, all property owners will be receiving a Notice of Assessment Change.  To check your assessed value, search for your parcel under "Real Estate Search".  If you disagree with the value indicated or have any questions, please contact the office of the Supervisor of Assessments at 815-844-7214.  If you would like to appeal your assessment, your appeal must be submitted in writing by the filing deadline.  Forms are available in the office of the Supervisor of Assessments and on this website under "forms".

2019 is a Quadrennial Assessment Year.  Every 4 years every parcel in the county is to be reassessed.  This doesn't necessary mean your assessment will change.  It just means we are required to review the data and value on each property.  If you have a concern regarding the current value of your property, now is the best time to contact your local Township Assessor to discuss that.  Notices of Assessment Change will be mailed to all taxpayers this fall.  Please take time to review this information when it is received.  You will have 30 days from the date of the Notice to appeal your assessment if you disagree with it.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your local Assessor or the County Assessment Office.
